Children and Teen Programs
In today's world, children are constantly being challenged with difficult choices, together with your assistance, we can help give them the tools they need to make the right decisions as they continue on their path to Black Belt excellence and adulthood.
Little Tigers (Ages 4 to 5) - Introductory program for pre-school to kindergarten children. Focus on this class is on the development of fine motor skills as well as coordination and agility. We develop the child's ability to concentrate and focus, as well as build character and confidence through positive praise and reinforcement.
Children's Classes (Ages 6 to 11) - Our award-winning children's program designed to help children develop into confident, happy adults. In this age group proper Taekwondo etiquette such as respect and discipline are strongly emphasized. Through their Taekwondo training we teach the children the importance of patience and dedication, as well as goal setting.
Home schooling classes (Any Age) - Daytime programs geared specifically towards students who school at home, and who have that spare time during the day.
Junior Classes (Ages 12 to 17) - Our programs geared specifically towards teenagers, through which we hope to give them the confidence, self-esteem, and discipline to get through the occasional difficulties of adolescence, and grow both physically and mentally confident happy adults, both. Taekwondo etiquette such as Respect, Discipline and Self-control are strongly enforced, and more emphasis is placed on physical fitness as teenagers require more attention in this areas as their bodies develop.
Good Citizenship Program - Is a take home program to develop good citizenship and responsibility. In keeping with "Applying Tae Kwon Do principles in everyday life" and the teachings of self-reliance, responsibility, cooperativeness, family love and respect, Master Park has established the Hong Park Good Citizenship Program. (Grades 1 to 7)
Intent To Promote - This program was designed as another way to promote character development through Tae kwon do training. The Intent to Promote forms we provide address two areas of each students life outside of Tae kwon do. There is a place on the form for your Childs school teacher to indicate if the student is performing satisfactorily and acting with respect at school. There is another place on the form where you as parents may evaluate your child's behavior at home. If your child does not get an "AGREE" from both their teacher and yourselves, then they must wait for promotional testing until they have demonstrated some margin of improvement in those areas.
Hong Park Tae kwon do College must receive back every student's "Intent To Promote" form or we do not promote the student. Children are then being held accountable, not just for what happens in the dojang, but for their behavior and attitude at home and school. We want all of our students to become Black Belts, in martial arts, and in life.
Adult Programs
General Health
At the Hong Park Tae Kwon Do College we believe that developing and maintaining a sound body and mind are critical to getting the most out of life. In our Adult programs you will experience a unique approach to self defense and exercise that benefits the body and the mind.
Exercise
To strengthen the body, you will begin with fundamental strength building exercises and cardiovascular training. Flexibility will be enhanced through a gradual building process and easy stretching techniques. You will find that the breathing and concentration exercises sharpen your senses and reflexes while allowing you to relax from the stress of daily life. This unique combination of using the power of the body and of the mind is the key to increased energy, self discipline, and fitness for a longer, happier life.
Confidence and Self Esteem
Self Control and Discipline come with belief of self worth, a benefit of goal setting and achievement. In our course you will set goals which we will help you achieve.
